"I've caught up with these guys twice in a week and I was not surprised to see faces from the first gig at the second one as well. In both venues the crowd just LOVED them and it was great to see the younger members of the audience in the Fleece mopping up the music with the same pleasure as those of us who relished the original tracks in the 60's and 70's.
This band are the best - for the best of Cream, Free, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Thin Lizzy, Wishbone Ash, Deep Purple, Hendrix with a bit of Lenny Kravitz, ZZ Top.... Not another cover band you might sigh, but let me put you straight. What sets this band apart for me is their accuracy and attention to detail without becoming slavish or pedantic... and also the quality of the sound they achieve; the overall impact is compelling and so completely true to the spirit of the originals. They are individually very talented musicicans and the outcome is a very balanced and strong band.
If you have the faintest memory of the material tucked away in your grey matter these guys will refresh it for you and send you home happy to dust off the ole battered vinyl. Classic magic!" ...................Live Music Magazine
"3 Legged Cat played to an appreciative audience on their third visit to the Fishpond, Matlock Bath. Their wide variety of material included songs by the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Wishbone Ash, Gary Moore and Jimi Hendrix... This Chesterfield band oozed fun and enjoyment, qualities which some outfits seem to lack these days. Andy's solos were a delight to hear and watch. Adrian and Adam's harmonies came over crisp and clear as did Paul's classy drumming, all contributing to a wonderful night of live rock" ...........Derbyshire Times
"I haven't enjoyed a rock band or rock set as much as this one in longer than I can remember, and it was all the more enjoyable as it was a last minute stand-in for yet another tribute band cancellation and, therefore, a total surprise. Musically they had it cleanly together with a mixed rocking/bluesy set that would have stretched any rated rock band - I mean Cream's White Room for starters! I was impressed - the sound was good, well balanced and the vocals, a big failing with a lot of rock bands, were great - and all four band members could sing too. Followed by Tore Down, Purple Haze the some Free, Skunk Anansie, Santana, Led Zeppelin, and I was really hooked - the evening was developing into one of those all too rare audience-grabbing experiences. One thing's for sure, these guys have served an apprenticeship somewhere, and made their own pleasure at having an appreciative audience very clear through the level of energy and enthusiasm they threw into every number. Zombies, Gary Moore's Midnight Blues, more Free, more Led Zeppelin, more Cream, ZZ Top, Thin Lizzy and a wonderful closing version of Hendrix's Hey Joe. All the way from Chesterfield, it worked and magically."......... Running Horse Review
"Headlining the Fishpond on Friday night were 3 Legged Cat on top form and adding a couple of their own excellent songs to some wonderfully expressive covers. Andy Holleran and Ady Hall turned in superb performances on guitars with new bassman Mick Hodges playing a blinder and drummer Paul Chisnell as classy as ever".............Derbyshire Times
"Despite suggestions of disability, there was nothing missing from 3 Legged Cat, who are obviously a finely-tuned, no-nonsense band. Throwing off effortless classics by Wishbone Ash and ZZ Top, they shared the most surreal moment of the day when a pink elephant air guitared his way through Are You Gonna Go My Way.........Oakstock Review (DT)
"This super rock band are making considerable inroads in the Nottingham music scene and it's not difficult to see why, because when it comes to musical and vocal skill, choice and quality of material, presentation and sheer good humour - that indefinable something that leaves people feeling they've had a superb evenings entertainment - they leave the opposition standing. What always strikes me personally is their choice of music - the variety - Wishbone Ash, Whitesnake, Free, Led Zeppelin, Santana, Jethro Tull, The Who, Thin Lizzy... it's not 'run of the mill' covers, and they do it all in such a strikingly uncluttered and un-reverential way that it comes over with a freshness of sound that engages the audience immediately. It really is an enviable quality." .................. Running Horse Review
In the interest of fairness, I feel obliged to put in the following conversation that Paul had with someone after a gig last year. We genuinely receive many positive comments from people at our gigs such as "you're the best band we've had here.." and "I prefer your version to the original...." . However this (brief) conversation was a bit different.
We were packing away at the end of a (sparsely populated) gig, when Paul was hailed by a man at the bar:
Man at bar: "Is tha' wi' turn?"Paul: "Yes"Man at bar: "Well tha's fuckin' wank"You can please some of the people some of the time..........
